Shortly after the Atlanta Falcons announced the hiring of Raheem Morris, numerous NFL insiders raised the possibility of Bill Belichick taking a hiatus for the entire 2024 season. Contrary to this belief, FOX Sports radio host Craig Carton has a different perspective involving the Kansas City Chiefs and Andy Reid.

During a recent episode of “The Carton Show,” he made a bold prediction that Bill Belichick will assume the role of the head coach for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Carton’s reasoning revolves around the notion that Andy Reid may choose to retire after the current season. If this scenario unfolds, it could create an opportunity for Belichick to step in.

“I think Bill Belichick will be the next head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs next year. I think that’s where he goes after Andy Reid retires after this year, which apparently there’s some smoke around him retiring.”

This speculation about Reid’s future in Kansas City has not been limited to Carton alone, as Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has also been vocal about it.

“I think there is reason to believe the Chiefs have the possibility on their radar screen. We will find out when the season ends. A lot of times, a guy keeps his mouth shut until it is all said and done – he doesn’t want to be the story, he doesn’t want to be the focal point, he doesn’t want it to be the issue.”

However, it’s important to note that the Chiefs might have different criteria for their next head coach. They could prioritize an offensive-minded coach, given their offensive prowess and the dynamic talents on their roster.
