Coming into the 2022 NFL season, some people were very high on the Philadelphia Eagles. After making a surprise run to the postseason following the 2021 campaign, Philadelphia is poised to improve even more this year.

They made some big additions during the offseason to upgrade the roster. A.J. Brown was acquired in a trade from the Tennessee Titans during the 2022 NFL Draft to bolster the offense and give Jalen Hurts a legitimate No. 1 option at wide receiver to pair with DeVonta Smith.

Defensively, the team added a running mate for Darius Slay at cornerback. James Bradberry was released by the New York Giants as a cap casualty and the Eagles scooped him up, giving them one of the best cornerback pairings in the league. Pass rusher Hassan Reddick was signed in free agency and just last week, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson Jr. was acquired from the New Orleans Saints in a trade.

This is a deep, talented roster and the Eagles have a chance to make some noise this season. Over at ProFootballTalk, several analysts are expecting big things from Philadelphia. Josh Alper believes the Eagles will finish second in the NFC and advance to the Super Bowl, where they will be defeated by the Buffalo Bills.

Charean Williams is predicting that the Eagles will finish first in the NFC and advance to the Super Bowl as well. Just like Alper, Williams predicts that Philadelphia will fall short in that game, also losing to the Bills.

Every person that was polled believes that the Eagles will soar in 2022 and make the postseason. They have to be feeling good about that prediction after Week 1 as Philadelphia won 38-35 in Week 1. Their defense got a little lax in the second half after going up 38-21, but they certainly looked good throughout the afternoon.

The injury to Dak Prescott certainly puts the Dallas Cowboys behind the eight-ball, potentially putting the Eagles in the driver’s seat when it comes to the NFC East race.
