New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is entering a make or break season in 2024.

Rodgers is coming off of a torn Achilles and is now 40 years old, so there is significant doubt as to whether or not he will be able to return to form.

However, a former NFL executive tells the NFL Analysis Network that he is expecting Rodgers to rise to the occasion come September.

“Personally, I think Aaron Rodgers is going to win the MVP award this season,” the exec said. “Every time he has a chip on his shoulder, he’s better than everyone. That’s the case this season coming off of the injury and having all the doubters. He’s going to have a massive season and I think he wins another MVP.”

The Jets acquired Rodgers in a blockbuster trade with the Green Bay Packers last year and were immediately labeled Super Bowl hopefuls because of it.

Unfortunately, Rodgers ended up tearing his Achilles on New York’s first offensive series of the season, ending Gang Green’s championship aspirations.

The Jets Have Reloaded for Aaron Rodgers This Offseason

The Jets have done an admirable job supplying Rodgers will good surrounding talent this offseason.

New York signed wide receiver Mike Williams in free agency, and it also selected fellow wide out Malachi Corley in the NFL Draft. That gives the Jets a potentially fearsome receiving trios that also includes Garrett Wilson.

Plus, New York patched up what had previously been a horrendous offensive line, and it even further buttressed the defense by swinging a trade for star edge rusher Haason Reddick.

All of the pieces are in place for the Jets to have a successful season. They just need Rodgers to stay healthy.

If Rodgers is able to avoid injury and looks even close to his old Packers self, New York may very well be a legitimate contender in 2024.

The AFC East is wide open for the taking, after all. The Buffalo Bills were weakened this offseason, the Miami Dolphins are beatable and the New England Patriots’ reign of terror is long over.

It all depends on Rodgers and how he recovers from what was a devastating injury.

We’ll see if Aaron Rodgers can prove all of the doubters and naysayers wrong once again.
