The San Francisco 49ers accomplished their goal to make it to the final game of the 2019 season, but they failed in winning it. A 13-3 season that landed them the No. 1 seed in the NFC ended with a Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The offseason has been productive for San Francisco. Their first line of business was to sign Arik Armstead to a five-year, $85 million contract extension. Raheem Mostert was able to work out a reconstructed deal with the team for 2020 then George Kittle was next to receive a big pay day. The Niners locked up their All-Pro tight end for five years to the tune of $75 million. DeForest Buckner was the team’s biggest loss as he is now with the Indianapolis Colts.
The San Francisco defense will be one of the best in the game once again entering 2020. The team also made improvements in the draft adding Javon Kinlaw and Brandon Aiyuk, who will compliment Deebo Samuel on the outside. San Francisco will have many players hit the open market following the 2020 season.
There is still a season to be played but the front office has to have the 2021 free agency period in the back of their minds. Here are four players to keep an eye on moving forward for the 49ers.
