NFL Free Agency 2021: 5 way-too-early landing spots for Hunter Henry

4. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys are going pass-heavy in 2020.

Amari Cooper is now playing on a nine-figure contract, Michael Gallup saw a heavily expanded role in his second pro season, and both of them now have a high-profile running mate in rookie receiver CeeDee Lamb. So, why not double down on the air-it-out approach and bring in a player like Hunter Henry?

Last year’s leader of the Cowboys tight ends, long-time Dallas veteran and everybody’s favorite football commentator Jason Witten, is no longer on the roster– leaving behind Blake Jarwin and a cast of unproven players that Henry could beat in a depth chart battle, provided he can stay healthy.

Dallas leaned heavily into their 37-year old tight end last season, and Henry would provide the team with a younger, more talented option. For as much as most of the world’s football fans would hate to see the Cowboys get a little better, this pairing makes too much sense to ignore.
