1. Las Vegas Raiders

There is no team that has been in the market for a receiver more than the Las Vegas Raiders. Jon Gruden is an aggressive head coach that likes to have options. In 2019, the Raiders signed Tyrell Williams to a four-year, $44 million contract. This was step one.

The Raiders drafted Hunter Renfrow in the 2019 NFL Draft. One year later, they entered the draft in need of a receiver and they had their pick of the litter. In a surprising twist, the Raiders made Alabama speedster Henry Ruggs III the first receiver taken. This fits into Gruden’s plan perfectly.

The Derek Carr-era has been in question since Gruden took over. They signed Marcus Mariota back in March so the pressure is on Carr. One thing that could solidify Carr’s job is signing Schuster in 2021. Nelson Agholor signed a one-year deal with the Raiders which means is not slated to be on the team after the 2020 season. This is a slot that Schuster could fill.

Gruden is a coach that likes to make splashes and the Raiders will listen. If they want to have a chance at competing with the Kansas City Chiefs, they will need to score points often. Schuster is a piece that could help that trend.
