Finally healthy all the way through, before sitting out Week 17 with an “illness”, Leonard Fournette had the best season of his career in 2019.
Fournette finished with 1,152 rushing yards on 265 carries, while adding 76 catches (on 100 targets) for 522 yards. He had the third-most touches (341) and the sixth-most yards from scrimmage (1,674) in the league).
As the Jaguars offloaded veterans this offseason, Fournette was on the trade block. But they were no serious suitors, apparently, and the team’s decision to decline his fifth-year option for 2021 was no surprise. With nothing certain for him now, the pressure is ramped up on Fournette this year.
Fournette might still be traded, between now and Week 1 or into the season before the trade deadline. But he’s slated to hit free agency regardless, and these five teams stand as way-too-early possible landing spots for him.
