In October of 2018, Patrick Peterson demanded a trade and said he wanted out of Arizona. He later apologized for the request but his name has been in trade talks ever since. It is unknown where Peterson and the Cardinals are at the moment.

The two sides could look to work on a new contract with Peterson’s deal expiring following the 2020 season. He is set to make $12.05 million this season and will count $13.18 million against the cap.

The 30-year old cornerback was suspended for the first six games of the 2019 season for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. Prior to the 2019 season, Peterson has started and played in all 16 games during the first eight years of his career.

Peterson was named to the Pro Bowl during his first eight seasons and was First Team All-Pro three times. There are many teams that would like to have the services of an elite cornerback and that is what Peterson is.

If Patrick Peterson does not work out a contract to stay in Arizona, here are five teams that he could sign with after the 2020 season.
