2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Sherman once made a name for himself by tweeting “U Mad Bro?” with a picture of the All-Pro corner following Brady off the field following Seattle’s 24-23 victory over New England on Oct. 14, 2012. Now, he could join the six-time Super Bowl champion in Tampa Bay.
Despite some critics writing Brady’s new team off as all flash and no substance, the Buccaneers look like legit Super Bowl contenders. However, a few holes remain open on the roster.
Defensively, Tampa Bay’s secondary is far from impressive. That’s where Sherman comes in. A future Hall of Famer and reigning Second-Team All-Pro, Sherman could bring some veteran savvy to a young and depleted secondary.
The former vocal leader of Seattle’s Legion of Boom, Sherman wants another Super Bowl ring. He came within a few big plays short of capturing his second Lombardi Trophy this past year. However, he could make another trip to the big game if Tampa Bay floats a short-term deal his way.
It’s worth wondering whether or not Sherman could bring himself to team up with Brady. Besides Sherman’s 2012 tweet, the corner watched his team lose in heart-breaking fashion to Brady’s Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.
Depending on Sherman’s willingness to team up and Tampa Bay’s roster-building, this pairing could give Brady and Sherman the best chances at capturing glory one last time.
