Can Offer a Large Contract

Currently, the Miami Dolphins have around $20 million in cap space. With current calculations and contracts, they are projected to have roughly $53 million in cap space in 2021 and almost $90 million in 2022. That is more than enough money to sign a big-name free agent like Aaron Jones, along with a few other pieces.

With 14 draft picks and Tua Tagovailoa on a rookie contract, offering a contract to Jones that he couldn’t refuse would be possible for the Dolphins to pull off. In three-to-four years, Miami could be Superbowl contenders, and definitely something that Jones is looking for.

And even with the sometimes shorter shelf life of running backs, Jones would only be 30-years-old in the prime of Tagovailoa. Along with the team’s other young talent and recent contracts, Jones would be an immediate leader on a young and hungry team.

The Dolphins are a team long overdue for a winning season, and Jones could go down as a hero that helped bring a Super Bowl ring back to Miami.
