NFL Free Agency: Predicting where the top QB’s will land in free agency

Predicted team for 2020: Las Vegas Raiders

When Bruce Arians arrived to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, everyone knew that it meant that Winston’s future was going to be determined. Would he come close to reaching his ceiling? Or would he fall flat on his face and be exiled to free agency?

In his lone season under Arians, Winston was somewhere in the middle as he had the best-worst season of his career (if that makes sense). The fifth-year veteran would finish with a career-high 5,109 passing yards and 33 touchdowns. However, he would also finish with a whopping 30 interceptions.

Due to his poor decision-making, Winston’s future with the Buccaneers is in serious doubt. As of this moment, it appears that Tampa Bay is going to use the franchise tag on Shaquil Barrett and allow Winston to walk in free agency.

With Winston entering free agency, there are a few teams that make a ton of sense for the turnover-prone quarterback. Near the top of the list, the Las Vegas Raiders are a team to watch when free agency begins.

Jon Gruden inherited Derek Carr when he took the Raiders job in 2018. Also, Gruden likens to quarterbacks that aren’t afraid to push the ball downfield and Carr has shown a hesitancy to do so. As a result, Las Vegas ends up trading Carr and gives the keys to the offense to Winston.
