Predicted team in 2020: Green Bay Packers

Prior to the trade deadline in 2019, Emmanuel Sanders was sent to the San Francisco 49ers from the Denver Broncos. When traded to the 49ers, Sanders had one thing on his mind — help San Francisco win the Super Bowl.

After being traded to the Bay Area, Sanders contributed 36 receptions, 502 yards, and three touchdowns in his 10 games with the 49ers. Although Sanders was able to help San Francisco make the Super Bowl, the team fell short of defeating the Chiefs.

Also, Sanders saw his role gradually decrease as rookie Deebo Samuel continued to develop as a lethal weapon in Kyle Shanahan’s offense. With the 49ers wanting to re-sign Arik Armstead, Sanders could be one-and-done in San Francisco.

In the event that Sanders tests the open market, he’ll have his sights set on a contending team like the Green Bay Packers. Outside of Davante Adams, the Packers lacked a true No. 2 option for Aaron Rodgers.

With Rodgers’ window to win another Super Bowl closing, getting a proven veteran wideout could benefit Green Bay next season. For the chance to compete for a Super Bowl, Sanders could take less money in free agency than expected.
