Arizona Cardinals
There is a lot of reasons for intrigue surrounding the Arizona Cardinals heading into the 2020 NFL season. They have made some intriguing moves since drafting Kyler Murray in an effort to surround their new franchise-quarterback with talent.
The contributions Murray provided the Cardinals’ offense in his first-year was enough to earn the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. He achieved this by recording 3,722 passing yards and 20 passing touchdowns along with 544 rushing yards and four rushing scores.
The mid-season acquisition of Kenyan Drake proved to be quite helpful for Murray and the Cardinals. Now, he will be in the backfield from the start. In addition, Arizona made a splash by trading for elite receiver DeAndre Hopkins from the Houston Texans to fill the No. 1 role.
The ESPN projection for Murray in 2020 features him completing 348-of-542 (64.2%) pass attempts for 3,803 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. In the ground-game, the expectation is 87 carries, 471 yards, and four touchdowns.
It seems likely Murray will produce the level of rushing results ESPN projects him to achieve. The passing production is largely emblematic of what appears to be what he should achieve, but the yardage, in particular, seems to be in a position to be increased.
