Carolina Panthers

The Carolina Panthers now have Matt Rhule on the sidelines, Teddy Bridgewater under center, and Christian McCaffrey still in the backfield. The Stanford product might be the best back in football at the moment. He earned a four-year extension worth $64 million for his production. And it has been that of greatness.

In 2019, McCaffrey finished with 1,387 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns. This was his second straight season of 1,000 rushing yards. McCaffrey is a true duel-threat. He set the receptions record for a running back with 116 in 2019.

McCaffrey broke his own record from the previous season when he finished with 107. In three professional seasons, he has 303 catches and 2,523 receiving yards. He’s been nothing short of spectacular so far during his Panthers career.

The 2020 season is not expected to be any different. ESPN projects McCaffrey to carry the ball 233 times for 1,048 yards and eight touchdowns. This goes along with 90 catches for 739 yards and three touchdowns. The receiving numbers seem accurate but his rushing numbers could pass the projections. McCaffrey is an elite weapon that will touch the ball at least 350 times this season.

McCaffrey is joined by Reggie Bonnafon and Mike Davis on the depth chart. They will see some snaps but McCaffrey is a three down back that is on the field most of the time. As far as running backs go, it is safe to say that the Panthers are in an incredible position.
