There has been plenty of added excitement surrounding the NFC South heading into the 2020 NFL season. The Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers each made offseason changes that grabbed headlines.
Early on, the Panthers set the tone in the headlines department by moving on from Cam Newton in favor of signing Teddy Bridgewater in free agency. Then the retirement of Luke Keuchly caught many by surprise as well.
No team was more aggressive in making moves predicated to contending in 2020 than the Buccaneers. They sent shockwaves throughout the NFL by signing Tom Brady and then pulling off a trade for Rob Gronkowski despite him being previously retired.
As for the Saints, most of their roster was already set but they added a long-needed secondary receiver in Emmanuel Sanders. We can’t forget about them signing former Buccaneers franchise-quarterback Jameis Winston to take on a backup role after Tampa Bay signed Brady.
Not all weaknesses can be addressed within a single offseason for most teams. The NFC South is no exception to that. With that being said, let’s dive into one glaring weakness each organization still faces prior to the 2020 NFL season.
