Denver Broncos: Inexperience

There is a lot to like about the Denver Broncos heading into the 2020 season. They made many key changes to their roster and placed a clear emphasis on adding more offensive firepower. Using the 2020 NFL Draft, they brought in Jerry Jeudy and K.J. Hamler.

The Broncos will be led by a second-year quarterback with two rookie wide receivers playing key roles in the offense. The ceiling is high if everything pans out as the best-case scenario, but a general lack of experience in key spots can result in inconsistency.

With Courtland Sutton as the No. 1 receiver, Noah Fant at tight end, and a backfield that features Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay, the Broncos’ offense have intriguing proven talent. There are some questions at the tackle spots but the offensive line is solid overall and the defense appears primed for a strong 2020 campaign.

The tools for success are there for Drew Lock and it will be important he manages to make the most of it. He could end up making a real leap in his second season, but regardless, inexperience isn’t exactly a strength. It’s something he could potentially overcome, though.
