NFL: One major steal from each team in the NFC North from the 2020 NFL Draft

Jon Runyan, Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers did not leave the 2020 NFL Draft as one of the winners. That is putting it lightly. This seemed like more of a power trip for the organization than a draft to make the team better. This seems obvious after they did not select a wide receiver in any round and took a quarterback in the first round. Just a reminder, Aaron Rodgers is still on the team.

Jordan Love went to the Packers with the No. 26 pick. In the second round, the Packers added A.J. Dillon from Boston College. He was a dynamic player in college but this was not a huge need. This could be a message to Aaron Jones that they will not be bringing him back in 2021. The Packers are messy at the moment.

A bright spot can be found in their sixth round selection of Jon Runyan. Michigan had an offensive line full of prospects in 2019 with Cesar Ruiz and Runyan. Son of Jon Runyan Sr., a 14-year NFL lineman, football is in his blood. Runyan is 6’4, 307 pounds and has great versatility. He played both right and left tackle in college and thrived in the run game.

If Love and Dillon are the future, then drafting Runyan seems like a steal given his high-ceiling.
