Tennessee Titans: WR Corey Davis
The Tennessee Titans selected Corey Davis with the 5th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft and have not reaped the benefits of drafting a weapon that high just yet. In three years, Davis has only totaled 1867 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, failing to crack the 900-yard barrier in all three.
Davis has had every chance to be the Titans’ number one option, with his only real competition being Rishard Matthews, Delanie Walker, and Tajae Sharpe. However, the emergence of second-round pick A.J. Brown out of Mississippi has definitely shifted the offense in his favor for targets.
The fact that Brown has outplayed the top-five pick in just one season and the Titans’ new offensive identity as a power-running group has made Davis somewhat obsolete. Adam Humphries was signed last year and played well in a complementary role, and Davis has already had his 5th-year option declined by the team.
Now that the Titans is tarting Ryan Tannehill instead of Marcus Mariota, there is a slight chance that Davis reignites himself in the offense but that remains to be seen. Corey Davis is a much more valuable blocker than a pass catcher, but it may be worth their while to test his value on the trade market.
