NFL: One second-year player to watch from each team in the AFC East

There could be a changing of the guards in the AFC East (and the NFL) in 2020 following the departure of Tom Brady on the New England Patriots. For the other three teams in the division, they’ll need some of their younger players — including their second-year players — to step up if they hope to finally dethrone the Patriots.

Upon Brady’s exit, the Buffalo Bills are now labeled as the favorites to win the AFC East next season. While he’s entering his third season, the success of the Bills rests on the shoulders of Josh Allen. The same could be said for Sam Darnold and the New York Jets, even though he’s surrounded with less talent than Allen.

Lastly, despite exceeding expectations a season ago, the Miami Dolphins are still going to need time to round out their roster before they become playoff contenders. Even if Tua Tagovailoa manages to play in 2020, the Dolphins still have glaring holes scattered throughout their roster.

Nevertheless, each team in the AFC East has a second-year player (or two) that could affect their respective team’s trajectory. With that in mind, let’s take a look at one second-year player from each AFC East team that fans should be paying attention to in 2020.
