Jacksonville Jaguars — Gardner Minshew

One of the biggest surprises in the 2019 NFL season came from Minshew in his first year with the Jaguars. The sixth-round pick out of Washington State would quickly be thrust into the starting role following Nick Foles’ shoulder injury in Week 1.

Altogether, Minshew would throw for 3,271 yards, 21 touchdowns, and six interceptions in 14 games (12 starts). Despite the Jaguars having a downtrodden season, the emergence of Minshew provided a glimmer of hope for the future.

Entering his second season — with Foles being traded to the Chicago Bears— Minshew is going into his first full season as the starter in Jacksonville. However, it’s a pivotal season for Minshew, as the Jaguars could have a roster that puts the franchise in a position to secure the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. If Minshew falters at all, Jacksonville likely won’t hesitate to replace him with Trevor Lawrence or one of the other coveted prospects in next year’s draft.
