Through the 2010s, the NFC West has shown that they are one of the toughest divisions in the entire NFL with the Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers, and Seattle Seahawks. During this period, the NFC West has sent five teams to the Super Bowl, with the Seahawks winning it in 2013.
The most dominant NFC West team as of recent has been the San Fransisco 49ers. Last season Kyle Shanahan and the 49ers made it to the Super Bowl, but were the first, of likely many NFL teams, to lose to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
While the San Fransisco 49ers did end up making the Super Bowl last year, the second-place Seattle Seahawks were almost as competitive. The Seahawks ended up making the NFC Divisional game last year and were a game away from meeting the 49ers in the NFC conference championship. The 49ers and Seahawks are two dominant teams, but the bottom of the NFC West is talented as well.
The Arizona Cardinals had a poor year last year based on their record as they finished with a 5-10-1 record, but their future looks bright. Kyler Murray has shown high-end play at the QB position, and this past offseason, the Cardinals have done a great job of giving their young QB weapons to work with.
The one NFC West team whose future looks uncertain is the Los Angeles Rams. Los Angeles used to be one of the best teams in the NFL as they went 11-5 in 2017, and 13-3 in 2018, but after that is when everything took a turn for the worse. The 2019 Rams finished 9-7 and saw a massive downturn in their offensive production.
While all of these teams are in different situations, there are a few additions that each team could make.
