The AFC East is up for grabs this season. The New England Patriots are coming off a historic run of dominance and the Buffalo Bills are an up and coming challenger. Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets are still looking to progress in the rebuilding process.

Although the Patriots’ defense was great last season, they will be missing some pieces this year. After plenty of opt-out decisions, some of their defensive stars won’t be playing this season. That’s troubling considering they experienced key departures in free agency.

Last season, the Bills managed to earn a playoff appearance but came up short in their efforts of winning–making it since 1995 that they have last won a game in the post-season. Buffalo may need to make another acquisition before the season to truly solidify themselves.

The Dolphins are continuing their rebuild and have a lot of draft picks and a very bright future. However, Miami may want to add a veteran to help put together a better product on the field in 2020. The offensive line is likely their biggest area of weakness and protecting Tua Tagovailoa is of the utmost importance.

The Jets are a team that could use talent at a few positions. New York isn’t ready to make a playoff push during the upcoming season and trading away Jamal Adams only exacerbated that. Adding a talented young veteran will help the team’s future though.

With that, let’s take a look at one trade each team in the AFC East should consider before the start of the 2020 season.
