2020 NFL Power Rankings: Teams 25-32
32. New York Jets
With the recent release of Le’Veon Bell and the all around mismanagement of Jets players, the clock is ticking for Adam Gase. New York has yet to show any signs of life this year. It may be smart to try and see what they can get for Sam Darnold, a young QB with a lot of potential. The Jet’s new GM and new head coach will be able to shape his team around a rookie QB (likely Trevor Lawrence) and build for the future.
31. New York Giants
The only reason the Giants are not in last place is because just how awful the Jets have been. The injury to Saquan Barkley derailed any hopes for this team to make a playoff push. Now the question is if they stick with Daniel Jones or put weapons around him. The first year under Joe Judge has been more than disappointing. However, the Giants are still in the playoff hunt in a hilariously atrocious NFC East. Playoffs are very unlikely, but not impossible.
30. Jacksonville Jaguars
After a surprising victory in week one and a very completive loss to the Titans, things were looking up for Jacksonville. However they dropped 3 straight games to winless teams. The Jaguars young offense has had its moments of solid play, however their defense has been utterly embarrassing all year. Jacksonville has given this front office plenty of time and fans are growing restless. Change is on the horizon for Jacksonville. The question is more about when than if.
29. Atlanta Falcons
Blowing leads will forever be synonymous with The Dan Quinn era in Atlanta. Dan Quinn’s time in Atlanta came to an end after falling to 0-5. The offense has weapons, and a fully healthy Julio Jones give a boost to the offense. However, the question becomes is Atlanta going to blow everything up and trade their veterans of value? The Falcons are going into the easier portion of their schedule facing the 1-4 Vikings and 1-3 Lions. If Atlanta losses these games we may see some big names on the move.
28. Washington Football Team
Washington’s defense has the potential to be one of the leagues best in a few years. Now is just not their time. Benching Dwayne Haskins is a bit of a head scratching move, and Kyle Allen really didn’t bring much to the offense. Washington’s offense has no real firepower and the defense isn’t good enough to carry them yet. They’ve faced sine very good teams early on. This could be a team on the rise. The toughest competition they face in the next 6 games will be the Dak Prescott-less Cowboys
27. Denver Broncos
The Broncos lone win came against the New York Jets. This team has talent, but the injury bug is killing them. Without a QB, this team is going to have a tough time against any competent opponent. Next year they’ll be much higher on the list, but this year just isn’t their year to make any kind of noise.
26. Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles are one team that could be dropping down on this list in a few weeks. Losing to Washington in week 1 I thought was more on rust than a lack of skill. However, issues kept coming up and Carson Wentz has been very bad so far. A tie to the Bengals and a victory over a very banged up 49ers squad’s putting them right in the midst of the NFC East playoff hunt. However, don’t let that fool you, this team has a lot of issues.
25. Houston Texans
The Texans got their first win of the season last week. However, there are still issues with this team. Firing Bill O’Brien was a smart move, but it came too late. Deshaun Watson is without a true number one receiver. The defense ins’t very good either. This is a much different team than the playoff contender we saw last season.
