Sam Darnold, New York Jets
It was a tough time for Sam Darnold last season between dealing with Mononucleosis, spleen enlarging from the mono, a lost toenail, and a sprained thumb. He will look to have a healthier campaign with the New York Jets.
The pace Darnold was on was solid but there is still plenty of need for him to improve. Cutting down on turnovers would be an effective start, but he simply needs to become a more dynamic contributor to help the Jets’ offense elevate as a unit.
There is still a lack for a real No. 1 receiver in the Jets’ offense and the receiving corps will likely be quite similar in impact in 2020. They lost Robby Anderson in free agency but added Breshad Perriman and Denzel Perriman.
Most of the Jets’ free agency spending was used on bolstering the offensive line, which was a real need to solidify the pass protection for Darnold. It was also a point of emphasis to address in the NFL Draft.
Prediction for Sam Darnold in 2020: 3,580 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.
