Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers

The Packers selected Aaron Jones in the fifth-round of the 2017 NFL Draft. As the UTEP product enters the final year of his rookie deal, Jones aims to replicate the borderline Pro Bowl numbers he produced last season.

After serving as a contributor in his first two seasons, Jones became a featured player in Green Bay’s offense last year. He started all 16 games, amassing 1,558 yards from scrimmage, which ranked second in the NFC North. Jones also punched in a league-leading 19 total touchdowns.

Jones produced five games with 100 or more rushing yards and averaged 4.6 yards per carry. His 236 carries set a low mark compared to the touches received by other feature backs like Nick Chubb and Ezekiel Elliott.

While Jones should still play a large role in Green Bay’s offense this season, it seems unlikely that he’ll score 19 touchdowns again. I also believe he could see a slight reduction in touches. The Packers recently drafted Boston College’s AJ Dillon in the second-round, adding him to a backfield that already features Jones and Jamaal Williams.

Green Bay boasts the deepest backfield in the NFC North, but it could fall apart within the next year. Both Jones and Williams need new deals. The Dillon acquisition could serve as a sign that the Packers won’t re-sign either of their soon-to-be free agent backs next offseason.

Prediction for Jones in 2020: 220 attempts, 1,030 yards, 12 touchdowns

Bonus: 45 receptions, 430 yards, three touchdowns
