5. Jason Kelce, Philadelphia Eagles
Multiple Eagles offensive linemen earned consideration for a spot on this list. When healthy, Philadelphia’s offensive line is arguably the best in the NFC East and the entire NFL. While the Cowboys also boast a tremendous offensive front, the team lost a lot of power when Travis Frederick retired earlier this year. Dallas’ line isn’t as talented as it was four years ago.
Last year, Brandon Brooks was Pro Football Focus’ top guard through Week 15. In the same article, PFF claimed Lane Johnson was the fifth-best lineman in the NFL and the league’s top-rated tackle through the season’s first 15 weeks. Jason Peters, who recently re-signed with Philadelphia as a guard, even appeared at the article’s tenth spot.
Kelce also made an appearance, claiming the 14th spot and holding the highest ranking among all centers. With Brooks recently tearing his Achilles, the battle for a selection on this list came down to Kelce and Johnson.
You could make a strong case for either player, but Johnson hasn’t been an All-Pro since 2017. Kelce earned his third consecutive First-Team All-Pro selection this past season. While he didn’t join Maurkice Pouncey on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-2010s Team, Kelce is the best center from the past three years.
Fans often overlook Kelce in favor of other superstars in the NFC East, but the 32-year-old deserves recognition for his incredible achievements.
