3. Teddy Bridgewater, Carolina Panthers
After spending time as Drew Brees’ backup with the New Orleans Saints, a full-time starting role with the Carolina Panthers is what Teddy Bridgewater faces in 2020. He led the Saints to an undefeated record in the five games Brees missed and he will seek to build off that in Carolina.
Being able to play in an offense that features one of the best players in the NFL in Christian McCaffrey is quite an attractive option. That alone places the Panthers high on the list despite an average or so offensive line. It doesn’t hurt that Carolina has plenty of speed at receiver either.
Seeing how Bridgewater performs in the offense designed by Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady will be intriguing to see. Many of Bridgewater’s throws were short with the Saints and having Michael Thomas, Alvin Kamara, and Jared Cook certainly helps.
The main drawback for Bridgewater is the fact that the Panthers are part of the NFC South. It will be quite a challenge to compete with the New Orleans Saints for starters, but now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers appear to be revamped and the Atlanta Falcons could bounce back.
