Baker Mayfield, Cleveland Browns
The 2019 season was a real disappointment for Baker Mayfield and the Cleveland Browns. That may leave some down on what he is capable of accomplishing during the upcoming season, but there’s plenty of intrigue to be had.
Last season, Mayfield completed 317 of his 534 pass attempts (59.4% completion rate) for 3,827 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 21 interceptions. His production across the board regressed from his impressive rookie campaign that set an NFL rookie record for total touchdown passes.
There is no shortage of talent for Mayfield to work with in 2020 after the Browns made additional roster moves. Cleveland added tight end Austin Hooper to a group that already features Odell Beckham Jr., Jarvis Landry, and David Njoku.
Managing to add Jack Conklin and Tristan Wirfs should help solidify the Browns’ offensive line, making things easier for Mayfield to operate. Let’s not forget, they had an effective running game before those changes to the line, too.
