Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns
Last season, Nick Chubb through his name in the hat for best back in the NFL. As fantastic as he played, the Browns’ struggles were the story out of Cleveland. While Chubb did concede some touches to Kareem Hunt, he still managed to finish second in total rushing yards. Averaging five yards per carry is no easy feat, especially behind a below-average offensive line.
While Chubb doesn’t offer as much as a receiver as Kareem Hunt, he is a dominant back. What impresses me most is his balance. Multiple times last season, Chubb fought through tackles and stayed on his feet despite big hits. Let’s not forget, he tied Lamar Jackson for most 20+ yard runs with 11 in 2019.
If Nick Chubb flashes more ability as a receiver next season, it would further help to elevate his standing among the NFL’s top playmakers. While he doesn’t always get the praise he deserves, his name should be high on the list based on his dynamic running ability.
