Derrick Henry, Titans, NFL

Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans

Last year’s rushing leader, Derrick Henry, was a dominant force, especially towards the end of last year. He is the biggest back in the NFL, standing at 6’3″ and weighing nearly 250 lbs, making it feel virtually impossible to tackle him one-on-one when he has a full head of steam. Henry’s size made him an internet sensation while he was during his time at Alabama, but it is his skill that is putting him worthy of consideration for the NFL’s best back.

As far as pure running, Henry is the NFL’s best workhorse. Finally, Tennessee gave him the opportunity to serve as the every-down back, and boy did he deliver. Towards the end of the season, Derrick Henry carried this offense throughout the playoffs. Usually, with backs of his size, there is a tremendous drop-off in speed and agility, but Henry is still a very agile back who’s is fast enough to bounce runs to the edge.

The best way to describe Derrick Henry’s running style is Godzilla-like. He runs over defenders like Godzilla topples buildings. Henry tied the NFL record that can never be broken. with a 99-yard touchdown run in 2018. That run isn’t a fluke either. Last season, Henry took off for a 74-yard rushing touchdown. Henry is a dominant back who without a doubt deserves to be on the list as a top-seven playmaker.
