2. Lamar Jackson
The reigning NFL MVP is Lamar Jackson, who put together a stupendous season in his second season with the Baltimore Ravens in 2019. With all of the highlight-reel plays that Jackson manufactured, I was running out of superlatives to describe what we were witnessing.
Despite critics questioning his passing ability, Jackson silenced them by throwing for 3,127 yards, 36 touchdowns, and six interceptions. In addition, the electric signal-caller scampered for 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns with his legs — becoming the first quarterback in NFL history to throw for 3,000+ yards and rush for 1,000+ yards in the same season.
Besides being the second unanimous NFL MVP in league history, Jackson became the youngest MVP at 22 years and 358 days old. Amid his quest to reach the Super Bowl in 2020, Jackson will look to become the first back-to-back MVP since Peyton Manning achieved the feat in 2008, 2009.
