1. Patrick Mahomes
Just two years ago, Patrick Mahomes took the league by storm in his first season as the starter for the Kansas City Chiefs. While completing no-look passes and side-arm throws, Mahomes would throw for 5,097 yards, 50 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions en route to winning the NFL’s MVP Award in 2018.
Despite suffering an injury during the 2019 campaign, Mahomes still managed to post 4,031 yards, 26 touchdowns, and five interceptions. Above all, the gunslinging magician led the Chiefs to their first Super Bowl victory since 1969. As a result of his success thus far, Kansas City is already discussing a contract extension with Mahomes that will undoubtedly give him the richest contract in NFL history. He might be able to negotiate part ownership of the Chiefs with how much he means to the organization.
In the midst of Jackson taking home the NFL’s MVP Award, Mahomes won Super Bowl MVP due to his late-game contributions to defeat the San Francisco 49ers. It goes without saying that Mahomes would love to defend Kansas City’s Super Bowl title and reclaim the NFL’s MVP Award next season.
