4. Green Bay Packers
Not only do the Packers have the worst group of receivers in the NFC North, but they also have one of the worst in the league. Davante Adams is not enough to save this group by himself. Entering the offseason, the Packers needed a wide receiver in the worst way and they proceeded to skip it completely.
The Packers big addition was adding Devin Funchess on a one-year deal after he missed all of 2019 with an injury. Funchess has recently opted out of the season due to COVID-19. This puts the Packers right back where they started. Green Bay had a chance to add a receiver or two in the 2020 NFL Draft, which featured the deepest class ever at the position. They also decided against that.
So entering the season, Green Bay is left with Adams and a group of young, unproven receivers. Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdez-Scantling will be forced into starting roles. Equanimeous St. Brown will be an option off the bench. The Packers do not even have a tight end to fall back on since Jimmy Graham signed a deal with the Bears. Second year tight end Jace Sternberger will have to take the next step this season.
It does not matter how good Rodgers is, and he is still an All-Pro talent. At some point, the Packers need to add receivers to their offense. Especially if they expect to win the conference and make it to the Super Bowl.
