2. Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings would normally land at the top of this list but they made a blockbuster trade with the Buffalo Bills prior to the draft. The Vikings sent Stefon Diggs to Buffalo in exchange for four draft picks, including the 22nd overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. Minnesota took that pick and immediately drafted a replacement.
This was one of the deepest receiving classes in draft history. Names like Jerry Jeudy, CeeDee Lamb, and Henry Ruggs III were off the board before the Vikings selection. The Philadelphia Eagles threw a wrinkle in the draft by selecting Jalen Reagor with the 21st pick. This allowed LSU star Justin Jefferson to fall right into the lap of the Vikings. Jefferson was part of an explosive offense at LSU. He caught 111 passes for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns. Jefferson will join Adam Thielen in Minnesota.
Thielen has emerged as a true No. 1 threat. He missed six games in 2019 but pt up huge numbers in the years prior. Thielen eclipsed 1,200 yards in each year and scored 13 touchdowns. He was targeted 295 times in 2017 and 2018 and finished with 204 catches. Joining Thielen and Jefferson is Tajae Sharpe and Bisi Johnson. As far as tight ends go, Kyle Rudolph and Irv Smith Jr. have that position locked.
Cousins has plenty of weapons to throw to this season. The Vikings have been waiting to take that next step and this could be their year. The offense is strong with Dalvin Cook still in the backfield. The Vikings have made great strides in improving their offensive line for 2020. It will be interesting to see the emergence of their new rookie this season.
