3 Perfect Trade Destinations For Packers WR Davante Adams

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is going to become a very wealthy person in a few months. The All-Pro wide receiver is set to hit NFL free agency and as arguably the No. 1 player available this offseason, he is likely going to break the bank and could reset the wide receiver market for years to come.

Adams has been one of the most dominant wide receivers in the NFL, recording at least 1,374 yards in three out of the last four seasons. He has double-digit touchdowns in five out of the last six seasons, making five Pro Bowls and being named to two All-Pro teams.

Given the salary cap issues that the Packers have and the uncertainty surrounding Aaron Rodgers, there is a chance that Adams moves on this offseason. That would be a devastating blow for Green Bay, but after extension talks were cut off last year, there was always a chance he could be moving on.

Where could the dynamic wide receiver end up? Here are three teams that would be perfect trade destinations for Davante Adams.

3. New York Jets

The New York Jets look like they have something figured out with Joe Douglas as general manager and Robert Saleh as head coach. They won only four games in 2021, but were competitive throughout the season and have some great pieces in place.

The most important young piece they have is quarterback Zach Wilson. After looking like a fish out of water to start the season, he started to get things on track towards the end. He has a lot of developing left to do, but one way to speed that up is upgrading the wide receiver position.

New York started the process last offseason, signing Corey Davis and Keelan Cole while using their second-round pick on Elijah Moore. But, a true No. 1 target is still needed and Davante Adams would be perfect for it.

Adams may not want to go to a rebuilding team such as the Jets, but they have a ton of cap space and will be able to offer a humongous contract. If Adams is focused more on signing the biggest deal he can, the Jets could be in play.

2. Denver Broncos

There have been rumors flying about the Denver Broncos going all-in on acquiring quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Those rumors have only gotten louder after it was announced that they were hiring Packers’ offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett to be their head coach.

The connection is there and until Rodgers is traded somewhere else or says he is staying in Green Bay, the rumors will persist. If the Broncos can land Rodgers, Davante Adams may not be too far behind.

The dynamic duo would like to remain together if possible and the Broncos are one team that would be able to make that happen. Denver doesn’t necessarily need another wide receiver, as they have an exciting young group with Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler.

But, if the opportunity arises to keep the Rodgers and Adams pair going, they likely wouldn’t turn it down and the Broncos should capitalize.

1. Las Vegas Raiders

Davante Adams has spent his entire professional career catching passes from Aaron Rodgers. The person before that in which he was catching passes from? None other than Las Vegas Raiders quarterback, Derek Carr.

The two have made comments about how great it would be to rekindle their partnership that was created at Fresno State where Carr and Adams put up some big numbers collegiately. The Raiders also face a need for a wide receiver.

The Raiders could use an upgrade on the outside as they need a true No. 1, go-to weapon. Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller are a nice start and have been productive, but adding someone of the caliber of Adams would help take the offense to another level.

With Josh McDaniels taking over as head coach, this offense has a chance to explode in 2022 and adding an All-Pro wide receiver to the mix would only increase the chances of that occurring.
