As the 2023 NFL offseason gets set to get underway, the New England Patriots are going to be a very intriguing team to watch in the NFL rumors mill. After missing the playoffs in 2022, Bill Belichick and company will do everything in their power to get back on track. Over the last couple of offseason periods, the Patriots have not shied away from being aggressive.

Fans should expect to see more of the same this offseason. If Belichick sees a player he wants on the market, he is going to do everything he can to get that player.

In one intriguing prediction from SportsNaut, the Patriots would bring in a star free agent defensive tackle. That player is current Philadelphia Eagles’ free agent Javon Hargrave.

They have Hargrave signing with the Patriots on a six-year contract worth $90 million.

Hargrave is coming off of a massive 2022 campaign with the Eagles. He played in all 17 games and racked up 60 total tackles to go along with 11 sacks, a forced fumble, two fumble recoveries, and two defended passes. Those numbers show what kind of an impact Hargrave is capable of making on the line.

What is the only issue for the Patriots’ hopes of landing Hargrave? Quite simply, there are going to be a lot of teams with interest in signing the 30-year-old tackle.

Standing in at 6-foot-2 and 305 pounds, Hargrave would add more pass-rushing alongside Matthew Judon for the Patriots. He is known for getting to the quarterback, but could also help stuff the run as well. If they can land him, Hargrave would be a massive upgrade on the defensive line for New England.

Expect to see a large market open up for Javon Hargrave when NFL free agency opens up. Don’t be shocked if the Patriots are one of those teams and are very aggressive in their pursuit of him. As we mentioned, there are going to be plenty of NFL rumors surrounding New England.
