NFL Scout Believes Packers Could Look At Signing TY Hilton

The Green Bay Packers surprised a lot of people when they failed to address their need for a wide receiver ahead of the 2022 NFL trade deadline. It has been a glaring need all season as their inability to mend the relationship with Davante Adams has cost them dearly this season.

Even the magic of Aaron Rodgers has not been enough to raise the level of the Packers’ offense. The team’s offensive line has not been great, leading to Rodgers getting battered and unable to rely on the running game for any support.

While there was no trade completed, that doesn’t necessarily mean that the Packers won’t be making changes to the wide receiver position. They could dip into the free agent market for some help and one NFL scout that talked to NFL Analysis Network believes that T.Y. Hilton is someone that the Packers could target.

“There are still plenty of options available for the Packers. Even if they don’t get Odell Beckham Jr., I think they could take a look at a veteran like TY Hilton. He’s waiting on the right situation, and Green Bay could be just that for him.”

Hilton has struggled to stay healthy at points in the last three seasons, bookending a 15-game campaign with two 10-game seasons. While he may not be the burner that he once was, Hilton showed that he is still capable of moving the chains.

Last season he averaged 14.4 yards per reception, catching 23 passes for 331 yards and two touchdowns. At this point, Rodgers is just desperate for some veteran help at the wide receiver position that won’t commit the kind of mental mistakes that he has been harping on after games this season.

If Hilton is looking for a chance at a lot of playing time, the Packers can present that to him. There isn’t much keeping him or any free agent addition from quickly moving up the pecking order for Rodgers’ targets.
