NFL scout links Aaron Rodgers to the Bears in the future

The Chicago Bears have long been looking for a long-term franchise quarterback and have had many struggles trying to find the answer. However, a potential franchise quarterback that would make perfect sense would be Aaron Rodgers. Obviously, the only problem with that plan, is that Rodgers is under contract with their NFC North division rival Green Bay Packers.

Over the last couple of years, the rumors have been flying about Rodgers’ future. With the team’s decision to select Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, those rumors picked up steam. Now, they just won’t seem to go away.

Rodgers could be nearing the end of his tenure with the Packers. If that is the case, the Bears could be waiting in the dark to swoop in and steal him.

One NFL scout talked to NFL Analysis Network about Rodgers’ future and thinks the Bears would be a perfect fit.

“If there was one place I’d love to see Aaron Rodgers play outside of Green Bay, it would be in Chicago for the Bears. He would turn them around in an instant. Keeping him in the NFC North would give Rodgers even more motivation to get back at the Packers. A Super Bowl in Chicago would not be a shock in the first year, similar to Tom Brady with the Buccaneers.”

Talk about a quote that would make Packers’ fans sick if it ended up happening. Rodgers heading to the Bears would be just like Brett Favre ending up with the Minnesota Vikings. It would rip the fans in half.

Last season with the Packers, Rodgers put together an MVP season once again. He completed 70.7 percent of his pass attempts for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Those numbers put to rest all of the critics who were saying that he was no longer an elite NFL quarterback.

Should the Bears be waiting to pursue Rodgers via trade or in free agency when his contract runs out? Absolutely. Will they get the chance? That remains to be seen.

The Packers would be foolish to still plan to move on from Rodgers in the next year or two in favor of Love. Love has a lot of talent, but Rodgers should finish his career where it started. Whether that will happen or not, only time will tell us.

Expect to continue hearing rumors surrounding Aaron Rodgers in the coming months. The Bears would certainly make sense for Rodgers, but for now it is just a pipe dream.
