NFL scout reveals how Yannick Ngakoue fits with Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders made a big-time splash to begin NFL free agency with the addition of star pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue. It was a move that fills a major need that the franchise has had over the last couple of years. While there are some who are cautious about this move, it’s one that could pay off big-time for the Raiders.

Ngakoue has been one of the most underrated pass-rushers in the game over the last few years. He has the ability to completely change the outlook for the Raiders’ defense.

One NFL scout spoke to NFL Analysis Network about the fit between the Raiders and Ngakoue. Fans will love what he had to say.

“Yannick Ngakoue was the Raiders’ top target all along. He will add elite pass-rushing ability off the edge and will give them the consistent double-digit sack threat that they have been needing. Some may forget, but this move will also help Clelin Ferrell out a ton, who showed improvement in 2020. This is exactly the move that the Raiders needed to make.”

During the 2020 season split between the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens, Ngakoue put together solid numbers. He racked up 23 total tackles to go along with eight sacks, four forced fumbles, and a defended pass.

It has been quite some time since the Raiders had that kind of a threat on the edge. That has been an area that has caused them to struggle mightily. Ngakoue may not fix all of their defensive issues, but he’s a big step in the right direction.

This is going to be a move that pays off big-time for the Raiders. Not only did they sign Ngakoue, but they got him for two years and $13 million per season. That is a big-time bargain compared to how much other high-level pass-rushers have been paid in recent years.

Jon Gruden and company have to feel really good about this move. The fans have to be even more excited. While the Raiders still have more work to do, this is just another move that has them headed in the right direction.

Yannick Ngakoue is going to be a perfect fit for the Raiders. He is going to have a huge 2021 season and Las Vegas should be very excited that they were able to get this done.
