NFL scout thinks Le’Veon Bell will sign with the Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are heading into another offseason where they could be looking to bring in a starting running back. Todd Gurley could be brought back, but that doesn’t seem super likely at this point in time. It appears that Le’Veon Bell could be a name to keep an eye on in free agency.

Bell, who started the 2020 season with the New York Jets and ended it with the Kansas City Chiefs, will be looking for a chance to prove himself. What better way to do that than to sign a one-year prove it deal with the Falcons?

One NFL scout, who asked to remain anonymous, believes that the Falcons will end up signing Bell this offseason.

“The Falcons need a new starting running back. A cheap option that would make a lot of sense is Le’Veon Bell. Bell simply wants to prove he can still play high level football and I think he’ll end up in Atlanta.”

During the 2020 NFL season between the Jets and Chiefs, Bell racked up 82 carries for 328 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught 16 passes for 138 yards and no scores. The Falcons would be hoping that Bell can get back to playing like his old self.

Unfortunately, the Falcons do not have the luxury of spending huge money on the running back position. They need to upgrade their defense in a big way. Shopping for a bargain like Bell on the market would absolutely make sense.

Le’Veon Bell was one of the best running backs in the NFL just a few short years ago. Following his fallout with the Pittsburgh Steelers, his career went downhill. There is a chance that he could turn things around with the Falcons as their full-time starter.

Rumors have swirled that the Falcons could look to move on from Matt Ryan and Julio Jones in the near future. Bringing in Bell would be a last-ditch effort to compete with their current core.

It will be interesting to see what the market ends up being for Bell this offseason. There is no guarantee that the Falcons will pursue him, but it would make a lot of sense.

Expect to see the Falcons take a look at quite a few running back options this offseason. Le’Veon Bell could be a name to watch.
