The Green Bay Packers are entering this NFL offseason with a few major needs to focus on filling. After making another run to the NFC Championship Game and coming up just short, the Packers need to add another wide receiver, another cornerback, and possibly a linebacker or two. One potential target at receiver in the 2021 NFL Draft could be Purdue’s Rondale Moore.
Moore is one of the most athletic receivers in the draft and will without a doubt bring burning speed to the field. That is something the Packers could have a ton of interest in adding.
One NFL scout believes that the Packers are going to target taking Moore in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
“I’ve heard Rondale Moore to the Packers a lot. They love his game and they think he would fit perfectly alongside Davante Adams. Aaron Rodgers needs a lethal weapon with speed and Moore would fill that void.”
During the 2020 college football season, Moore chose to skip most of the year. He played in just three games on the year. In those three games, Moore caught 35 passes for 270 yards and no touchdowns.
Back in 2019, Moore also put together a lower season than many were expecting. He racked up 29 catches for 387 yards and two touchdowns. Those numbers were a major disappointment for him.
However, the season that many look at and see big-time potential for Rondale Moore is 2018. He caught 114 passes for 1,258 yards and 12 touchdowns. Moore also carried the football 21 times for 213 yards and another two touchdowns, which would provide the Packers with a dual-threat wideout.
Standing in at 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, Moore is not a big target. He is the kind of player who could thrive as the slot wide receiver in an offense. That is exactly the thing that the Packers were missing last year in Matt LaFleur’s offense.
This would be a match made in heaven for both the Packers and Moore. And, it seems like Green Bay could be targeting this move.
