Rationale for Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have gotten off to a rough start to the season— holding a 1-3 record through four games. The Packers and Bears both sit atop the NFC North with what could end up being sizable margins in the relative future.
If the Vikings want to start rebuilding their defense, moving Harris wouldn’t be a bad choice. It would bring down the cost of the overall unit while adding more draft capital.
The secondary for the Vikings is already full of youth, particularly at cornerback after the team moved on from no shortage of veterans in the offseason. Using a draft selection in the 2021 NFL Draft to add a safety into the mix could help further the youth movement.
The Vikings also wouldn’t have to deal with any potential concerns about contract talks in the offseason if they were to move Harris before the NFL trade deadline.
