Who will have a better 2020 season? The choice: Ezekiel Elliott

Nothing against Saquon Barkley and his incredible talent, but this choice is simple. Ezekiel Elliott is the best pure runner in the league over the last four years. Derrick Henry will need to prove it for a little longer. Aside from that fact, Dallas is in a far better position to be successful than the Giants.

In Dallas, they are expecting an NFC East title and what could be a playoff run. In New York, they are expecting another top draft pick and hoping that Daniel Jones shows improvement. They added Andrew Thomas with the fourth overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft but their offensive line still needs some work. For the Cowboys, their offensive line is solid with Zack Martin, Connor Williams, La’el Collins, and Tyron Smith.

Does Elliott make Dak Prescott better or does Prescott make Elliott better? It works both ways. Prescott is put in many short yardage situations on secon down when Elliott breaks a seven or eight yard run on the first play.

On the other hand, Prescott is dangerous enough to keep defenses honest which helps create room for his running back. This is something Barkley does not have. Elliott is playing with a quarterback that is searching for big-time money while Barkley has a second-year signal-caller with a ton of question marks.

Barkley is capable of putting up major stats. He is an elite. Receiver out of the backfield and is lethal in the screen game. Elliott is not at that level when it comes to catching the ball, but he is the league’s best pure runner. If both backs play 16 games, they will put up huge numbers. But give me Elliott when it comes to rushing yards, rushing touchdowns, and carries.

The Cowboys are hoping for a double-digit win season while the Giants would be lucky to win five games. When you combine team success with individual statistics, it is clear that Elliott will have the better 2020 campaign.
