Marshawn Lynch Will Record a 1,000-Yard, 10+ Touchdown Season
These are the numbers you’ll usually see after playing franchise mode in the video game Madden. So yes, I do expect a video game-like season for beast mode. It’s not as impossible as it sounds or looks. If you revisit the Raiders acquisitions on the offensive side of the ball for both players and coaches, then you’ll see a lot of them were brought in to compliment Lynch. Those numbers are attainable for Lynch.
The two that are most significant is fullback Keith Smith from the Dallas Cowboys and offensive line coach Tom Cable, who held the same position with the Seattle Seahawks when Lynch was there. This is where head coach Jon Gruden deserves a lot of credit. He researched and scouted his team thoroughly within a short time frame.
Lynch’s most successful seasons came with a lead fullback and Cable as the line coach. Gruden is implementing a system that allows Lynch to tap into his full potential. There will be no excuses this year for him not to be successful. Don’t forget about the blocking tight ends Lee Smith and Derek Carrier. There are going to be a lot of heavy formations that will make defenses regret rolling out their nickel package. Mix all of those players together and you get a smash mouth running attack.
Throw in arguably the best offensive line in football and it should almost be expected for Lynch to produce those numbers. It’s safe to say that Gruden will give it to Marshawn at the one yard line. There’s just too much brute force to not do it and he won’t get cute have them in the shotgun, which I personally despise. With everything considered, it’s not farfetched for him to attain those numbers.
