Preseason is such a tease for us diehard football fans. You watch your favorite players, presumably starters, get a series or two and then they’re done. You find yourself sitting and thinking “Why did I do this to myself?” Then again, a lot of us would be criticizing the coaches if a starter got injured because they were left in the game for too long.

Preseason isn’t really meant for the starters. It’s for the rookies and the players who are fighting for a roster spot. The intense training camp battles transition to live action to see who can hack it. A lot of positive and exciting things occur as a result of preseason week in and week out.

The same thing is also true on the other side of the spectrum. A lot of disappointments and negatives can come about from these games.
