Tight End
In my opinion, aside from Cooper, Jared Cook is the most interesting fantasy prospect from the Raiders. However, with more weapons on the offense now (Nelson, Bryant, Switzer, etc.), Cook may lose some of his production. Last year, Cook actually led the Raiders with 688 yards. However, he only found the endzone twice, which isn’t ideal for a tight end although Cook has never been known as a big redzone target.
In 2017, Cook finished 12th in scoring among tight ends with 132.8 points (PPR). However, despite a strong 2017 season, experts aren’t very high on Cook. Ranked as the 21st tight end and 191st player overall, Cook isn’t projected to replicate his success.
In my opinion, Cook deserves to be higher than that for a couple reasons. Primarily, he will be in a new offensive scheme led by one of the best minds in football. In addition, Carr is set to rebound and if Cook put up those numbers with a banged up Carr, he should be able to at least do the same with Carr healthy again. Finally, Cook already has shown some good chemistry with Carr and that should only improve in year two.
