Oakland Raiders: Trade Scenarios for Amari Cooper and Karl Joseph

Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys let go receiver Dez Bryant, with what seemed like a logically sound move. However, they never replaced him, so that logic is now flawed. The Cowboys have one of the worst receiving corps in the league. Quarterback Dak Prescott struggles are related to the lack of talent at receiver. By making a trade for Amari Cooper, Dak will finally have a weapon to throw to. This weapon may even be enough for the Cowboys to make a playoff push considering the NFC East is wide open.

Amari would be the best receiver that Prescott has ever had since he stepped into the league. Amari is a fantastic route runner. If the Cowboys can get him into open space going across midfield, then Dak will have an easy time hitting him. Amari can create separation, but scheming him open will just assure it. You can’t have him try to win his matchups every single time, which is what is happening g to him in Oakland.

Cooper would be a difference maker in the play-action game as well. The threat of Ezekiel Elliot gashing a defense on the ground will make it a tough decision on defenses. Stack the box? Or give some respect to the pass? Right now, defenses are playing the run because Dak Prescott is forced to make a fantastic play to get the passing game going. No one in that receiver room of the Cowboys is scaring any defense. With Cooper, he not only helps Dak and Elliot but the rest of the receivers as well. He’ll be the clear number one receiver on the team, so defenses will focus him and force Dak to look elsewhere. Whether he would stay with the Cowboys after 2019 is tough to say. This trade would be more so for this season and next.
