Oakland Raiders: Trade Scenarios for Amari Cooper and Karl Joseph

Chicago Bears

I know what you might be thinking. Am I trolling on this? Well actually, I’m not. Trading Amari Cooper to the Chicago Bears is a viable option for both teams. There’s already history with them after the Khalil Mack trade. Not only that, both Amari and Khalil have the same agent. That’ll surely be a goal in mind there because the Bears could extend Cooper before next season. It’s the luxury of having a quarterback on a rookie deal.

The bears offensively have so far been pretty good this season. What’s missing from that offense is a real talent at receiver. They have quality depth overall, but no one that really stands out. Adding Amari Cooper into the equation would make this offense even more explosive. Much like with the San Francisco 49ers, the bears have a solid offensive-minded head coach in Matt Nagy. He would have no problems with finding ways to get Cooper to produce. Nagy spent the last few seasons getting a sideline view of Cooper’s ability thanks in part to being the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator.

There definitely had to have been times where he wished Amari was a Chiefs wide receiver. Now that he’s on the trade block, he has a chance to see how he fairs in his system. Amari Cooper’s addition would also be beneficial for quarterback Mitchell Trubisky’s development. Having a great talent like Cooper would help expedite his development because Cooper will make the game much more comfortable for him.

Here’s where the Bears are in an excellent position for this trade. It’s not just because of their cap or because of the same agent. It’s because they have the Raiders 2019 second round pick that they received in the Khalil Mack trade. Flipping that pick for Amari Cooper would be a steal since they really shouldn’t have gotten that second-round pick in the first place. So essentially trading for Cooper would cost the Bears nothing. If this trade were actually to happen, then the embarrassment that is Jon Gruden would drive headlines all over the place.
