One player each team from the NFC West could trade before the season

Arizona Cardinals: Patrick Peterson

Peterson was recently named to the NFL’s All-Decade team. This is a well-deserved honor for a player who made a name for himself as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. The question remains, will Peterson remain with the Cardinals?

It feels like there have been trade rumors surrounding Peterson for years now. The 29-year-old has one year left on a five-year, $70 million contract extension that he signed in 2014. The Cardinals have engaged in extension talks with their star corner, but nothing has been done yet.

It still remains possible for the team to trade Peterson. The rumors have been around for so long that it would make sense to just deal him away rather than giving him another big extension. Finding a trade partner would not be difficult. There are plenty of teams that would be interested in an All-Pro corner.

The Dallas Cowboys are one of the win now teams that could make a push for Peterson. They lost Byron Jones in free agency and drafted Trevon Diggs in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Pairing Peterson with the young corner could be a strong duo. The Philadelphia Eagles also come to mind as a contender. Nonetheless, the Cardinals have options when it comes to Peterson.
