Los Angeles Rams: Tyler Higbee
The Rams made one of the biggest moves of the offseason when they released Todd Gurley. The offense could be up for another move if the team decides to trade one of their tight ends, perhaps Tyler Higbee.
Prior to the 2019 season, the Rams signed Higbee to a four-year extension worth $29 million. At the time, this move seeme premature. Higbee got off to a slow start but earned his money late. The tight end caught 69 passes for 734 yards and three touchdowns. These are impressive numbers, but we can’t forget that the Rams also have Gerald Everett on the roster.
Los Angeles could move either tight end if they choose. Trading Higbee would save $6.2 million in cap space. If they believe Everett is the future after drafting him in 2017, they could move Higbee. The Rams added Brycen Hopkins out of Purdue in the 2020 NFL Draft, which further complicates things.
Adding Hopkins hints that they could trade one of their tight ends. If they decide to do so, Higbee is the one that makes the most sense.
